Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
There are more than 6,000 butterflies (and some really, really creepy crawly things behind glass, thankfully) at the Taman Rama Rama Butterfly park. Over 120 species, they tell me, though who could count with all that flapping and flitting going on?
They're everywhere! What a wonderful place to see. The park is an imita...tion of the butterfly's natural habitat, with more than 15,000 plants from 100 species used to recreate a Malaysian rainforest atmosphere. And plenty of waterfalls, fountains and other 'water features' to keep the humidity high (I noticed).
Fortunately, there are also lots of shade places to sit and just watch the goings-on and other people. We met a wonderful family from Iran and had a lovely chat and took each other's pictures. A daughter who's a student in Malaysia, and her visiting mother and two aunties.
If you like butterflies, this is definitely a place to put on your list. These photos were taken Sunday, November 21st.
